I am beginning to feel unamerican.

"Waiting On The World To Change"

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could

Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want

That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's not that we don't care,
We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

And we're still waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Thank you John Mayer for those lovely little words that struck me like a lightning bolt today on my commute home. When had I become so DIFFERENT? I suppose Damon started the thought in my head. About us being really different from the "general population" and "we're isolated" just general conversation. He agrees WHY we are different! But still, why is living the way I do feel so much like I'm swimming up stream?

When did my rights as a parent, my right to birth, my rights to my body, and my home become so under fire? Why is the big taking over the little and ruining what I love? Theres so many unjustices, I could list them for years and never run out of things to say about the unjust things I see.

But I have hope. I have hope to raise a better American in my own children. That they will grow and they are the face of our country. With a better home education, and food that I grow myself. With a mother and father together working to build something wonderful. That they witness self employment - not a peg on someone elses board, but parents in control of their lives.

My children have become not only hope - but now a driving need in me to rise above what I am waiting to change, and lead by example.

I like my damn bubble.
