Family Family Family

Its been a crazy week, but in a fantastic way. Damon's mom came out to visit! 2 years ago we decided that we would probably take a couple years off of traveling to Seattle. After all, we have young children and just generally felt it was easier for Damon's parents to travel to us to visit. We have always had an extra 'bedroom' in every place we've lived and welcome visitors!!

And guess what, visitors came! Leslie and Tora arrived last Friday night for dinner and this morning made their depature. It was a crazy week. We had a lot of fun, worked crazy hours, and got to witness our children connect with their grandma in a beautiful way.

Here's pictures of a few of the events we enjoyed!

PENGALOO! This amazing game was a gift from grandma for this past Christmas. It's absolutely one of their favorites.

Saturday ended up being pretty crazy. We bought a car and towed a different car all in one day. Aye! But there was some great times that were relaxing and happy! Grandma had brought the girls several gifts and high on their agenda was to use BUBBLES!

Spinning around with bubble wands in absolute bliss when you're 2 and 4!
Saturday was a gorgeous day for being outside and living!
And there's more! Grandma didn't bring just bubbles - she brought sun glasses too! They are so loved already.
And there was absolutely time for snuggling Declan too.
Saturday came and went with a great time!! Sunday was also fabulous. We headed to church and while I missed the sermon because I was in the preschool room teaching, I heard it was fabulous! Then we decided to hit Costco for lunch. yum! And it doesn't stop there.... here we come Zoo Boise
Moose riding in a stroller is so new and weird to me. With Aurora, I wore her everywhere. I do wear Moose man a lot, but it was a hot day and the stroller was handy. I'm on the fence about it still.
Oh so happy
But of course this kid is so happy, he didn't mind too much. Damon did pick him up though and carry him lots and got in great snuggle time! I love these men of mine :)
Our girls have absolutely no time for snugglin or being carried at the Zoo. They are too busy running around! This 'hut' is modeled after an African grain hut where the grain is kept off the ground to minimize water exposure and insects. Very cool!
We did in fact see every exhibit in the Zoo Boise. We are annual pass holders, and we usually don't see everything in one day. We go, relax, have a packed lunch there, but this time we had to show grandma everything!
The penguins were very lively on Sunday. They were so fun to watch!
A giraffe they are trying to train... ha. and the zoo is full of all sorts of fabulously cute things for the kids to do. Daunika as a snake and Aurora as a turtle in the bank of a big tree is one example!
Rounding out the zoo day with a snack :)
Monday morning we went swimming. Just me and Leslie and the kids. It was great. Any day at the pool is great and the kids, especially Aurora, loved that Grandma held her hand as she jumped in over and over. Daunika was off with friends. Cannot be bothered to come anywhere near by.

It was a beautiful 'vacation' for us. While we felt busy and sometimes stressed, it absolutely was fabulous. Our week was just hectic from completely other areas. Mostly this Grandma visit was important to all of us because of how very important our family is. As the girls played with grandma and we shared family meals together, did our spiritual practice of saying our 'thank yous' before lighting our chalice, etc. It was memorable to share it with Damons mom. We realized how much we'd like to see her more often. I'm so glad Damon got to tell her that and it sounds like we can hope it won't be a whole year before the next time she comes to visit again! YAY!
Ah. It feels wonderful to have a full cup of happiness.
